Web Design in Te Anau

We build websites for Te Anau and Fiordland businesses — tourism operators, accommodation, hospitality and guiding. Built for an audience that's mostly international, mostly on a phone, and mostly deciding before they arrive.

Te Anau's customers find you months before they get here

This is what makes Te Anau different from anywhere else we work. Your customer is planning a Fiordland trip from Melbourne, Munich or Singapore, comparing operators on a phone, and booking before they've seen the town. For a large share of your bookings the website isn't supporting the business — it is the business.

That means the site has to work for someone with no local knowledge: where you are relative to the town and the Milford road, what's included, what the weather contingency is, and what happens if their flight is late.

Booking flow is the whole thing

The most common problem we see with Fiordland operator sites is a booking process that starts well and then hands off to something clunky — or worse, asks the visitor to email and wait. Every step between “I want this” and “it's paid for” loses people, and international visitors won't chase you.

We build the booking path as the primary structure of the site rather than a button in the corner, and integrate with whatever booking system you already use rather than insisting you change it.

International visitors, phone screens, patchy coverage

Design for a phone held in one hand in a car park with one bar. Fast, legible, tappable, with prices in NZD and clear enough that someone whose second language is English can follow it without effort.

Plain, extractable text matters more here than anywhere — it's also what decides whether an AI assistant names you when someone asks it to plan their trip.

Seasonal demand

Fiordland's season is brutal at both ends. The site needs to handle a summer traffic peak without falling over, and it needs to be trivially easy to switch to off-season messaging without paying someone to do it. Hosting and content changes are both included in the monthly fee.

What it costs

Web Presence is a $599 setup fee plus $75 a month on a 24-month term. If you're taking payment online, eCommerce is $1,500 setup plus $120 a month with payments and order flow included. Everything registered in your name.

Common questions

Do you build websites for tourism operators?
Yes — accommodation, guiding, transport and activity operators. The priorities are different from a standard business site: booking flow, international audience and seasonal messaging come first.
Can you integrate with my existing booking system?
Generally yes. We'd rather build around the system you already use than force a migration. Tell us what you're on and we'll confirm before quoting.
Will the site work for overseas visitors?
That's the design brief. Clear pricing in NZD, plain English, fast loading on international connections, and mobile-first because almost all of that traffic is on a phone.
How do I get found by people planning a Fiordland trip?
Content that answers the questions they're actually searching — how to get to Milford Sound, what to do in Te Anau when it rains, what to book ahead. That's what wins the visitor who hasn't chosen an operator yet.
